Central Tour #10 - Tres Cruces Terminal and Shopping
Three of the city's most important avenues meet at Tres Cruces. Nearby is the Shopping Mall and Terminal that bears its name and the Democracy Square, popularly known as the Flag Square, due to the 30-metre-high flagpole with the National Pavilion. In the central flowerbed, the tall Christian cross stands out, which was used for the open-air mass offered by Pope John Paul II at this location in 1987. Years later, a bronze statue of the Pope was installed next to it.
